OUR
STORY
Marvin Ridge Rugby Club is a 501(c)(3) non-profit rugby club.
We are accessible to Middle School and High School aged players in the Marvin/Waxhaw/Weddington area and surrounding communities.
Our primary focus is promoting and teaching the sport of rugby while developing players to their highest
potential in a safe, fun and positive environment.
Established in Winter Season 2020/21, Coach Alan Mitchell launched a Middle School program. COVID-19 was an issue so we adapted the format, played in masks and had great fun!
In 2021/22, we grew to three Middle School Teams with our Varsity team winning the State Championship.
The 2022-23 season saw us launch a High School Team and welcome over 100 athletes in the program. Our HS team won the State Championship, beating the favorites, Hough HS. Our Middle School Varsity and JV teams also won Winter Championships.
We very much hope that our players fall in love with rugby. Some have already gone on to play for Select Teams across the US, play in Europe and compete for the Under 18 USA Eagles!!
Love rugby and it will love you back.
